Protein engineering of lactate oxidase

Abstract

Abstract. Lactate oxidase (EC 1.1.3.2) has substantial practical importance as an enzyme extensively used in medical diagnostics and the food sector for detection of L–lactate. This study provides a comprehensive summary of the outcomes obtained from protein engineering studies conducted on lactate oxidases. The primary objectives of these investigations were to elucidate the underlying mechanism of action of the enzyme and enhance its operational features.
